We are proud to announce that Kevin Backus has been
named as Director of Lean Operations at MetoKote Corporation. In this
position, Mr. Backus is responsible for deployment of lean initiatives
for all North American operation. This also includes training and educating
managers and teams to successfully implement lean practices.
Mr. Backus brings extensive experience in lean operations to this
new position. His most recent position was Vice President of Operations,
Brake Parts and Chassis Products for Federal-Mogul Corporation. He
maintained profit and loss responsibility for operations with annual
sales of $500 million and more than 2,000 employees. His previous
experience with Federal-Mogul Corporation was in the development,
training and implementation of their lean systems worldwide. He has
also held plant operations, materials management and finance positions
with Federal-Mogul Corporation.
Mr. Backus has a Bachelor degree in Accounting from the Ohio State
University in Columbus, Ohio.
Kevin resides in Delphos, Ohio with his wife, Jane, and two children,
Stephanie and Brian.

Terry Tarpley Joins Sales Team
Terry Tarpley has recently been promoted to Sales
Account Manager for the Southern region overseeing sales for Alabama,
Kentucky, Mississippi and Tennessee.
Terry began his career at MetoKote in December 1998 as a Team Leader
in Lebanon, Tennessee. He was previously employed with Trinidad-Benham
(a food packaging company) for five years as a Production Manager.
Prior to Trinidad-Benham, Terry worked with Cedar Grove Residential
Treatment Center.
Terry holds a Bachelor degree in Agribusiness from Middle Tennessee
State University in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
Terry resides in Tenneesee with his wife, Lisa, and two children,
Dylan and Dexie. Terry enjoys coaching youth sports, fishing, golf
and taking long walks in the park.
Stratman Joins MetoKote
Ron Stratman has recently joined MetoKote as a Sales
Account Manager overseeing the southern portion of Ohio, Northern Kentucky
and Indiana.
Ron
has 14 years selling experience with a background in metals.
Most recently, Ron spent 12 years selling
fabricated and finished aluminum extrusions
for Magnode Corporation in Trenton, Ohio. While
with Magnode, Ron’s titles included Sales Engineer and General
Sales Manager. As Sales Manager, he was in
charge of program management for consumer
electronics and automotive customers while also managing
the sales engineers and customer service staff.
He holds a Bachelor Degree in Management from Ohio University.
Ron resides in West Chester, Ohio with his wife, Julie, and three
children, Eva, Matthew and Thomas.
Brent Schwartz New Vice President - Equipment
Brent Schwartz has been promoted to the position
of Vice President – Equipment over the MetoKote Equipment Division.
Brent is responsible for the project engineering, design engineering and
equipment building groups.
Brent joined
MetoKote as a Senior Management Trainee in 1999. He has since held
several
positions with the Lima operations and the equipment
group, most recently serving as Director – Equipment Division.
Brent holds a Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Ohio Northern
University in Ada, Ohio, a Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering
and an MBA from Case Western Reserve University.
Brent resides in Wapakoneta, Ohio with his wife, Laura, and his three
children, Cory, Cassie and Chris.
