Honda Pre Pack Operation

 The plant is a Regional Coating Centre consisting of 80,000 sq ft with two off-site custom packaging facilities. This plant serves the needs of multiple customers and their coating requirements and can handle parts from small components such as brackets to large components such as full body sides.

The plant is able to offer a full range of coating technologies as follows:

  • Electrocoating (e-coat) system.
  • Powder Coating Line.
  • Class A top coating (liquid paint) line.
  • In-house reclamation process with grit blasting capabilities for jigs and tooling.
  • Fully certified to meet most OEM domestic and transplant automotive and truck industry standards and specifications.
  • Equipped with in-house inventory tracking system – Metokote Inventory Tracking System (MITS).
  • Excellent transport facilities provide efficient trucking and product logistics for unfinished and finished goods.
    • Computerised inventory tracking simplifies and upgrades shipping tasks and enables scheduled deliveries to be made directly to point of use.
  • Utilise PPG cathodic, epoxy electro coat material with low VOC’s (Volatile Organic Compounds) and compliant top coating paint products.
Substrate Coating Flexibility
MetoKote constantly researches and evaluates new coating materials, techniques and substrates. At Daventry, the systems are designed to process weldments, assemblies and stampings made of substrates including steel, cast iron, aluminium, galvanised sheet metal and Magnesium Alloys. Electro – Coat

MetoKote UK, Daventry, has an electrocoating (e-coat) monorail system designed for high volume production coating. All parts receive superior pre-treatment and the latest technology in corrosion resistant coating.

The line has spray chambers for cleaning and pre-treatment and the large e-coat tank contains over 75,000 litres of environmentally friendly material and uses the latest lead free paint to meet all automotive standards.

Liquid Paint

There is a modern Class A top coating (liquid paint) monorail line complete with wash station. This line is geared to providing high volume; high-quality automotive topcoat finishes.

Powder Coating

The A modern line with an Allodine 5200 pre-treatment capable of coating Magnesium, Aluminium Alloys and any other electro-coated substrates.

In addition to your coating requirements, the Daventry facility is also able offer the following value added services:

  • Packaging – We are able to introduce bespoke packaging operations to meet individual customer requirements.
  • Plasma Cutting – Capability to plasma cut customer supplied panels to specific requirements.
  • Sub Assemblies – Add to our core coating processes the option of additional assembly such as welding and addition of sundry items to coated parts. Enabling the customer to receive not only coated parts but a finished ready to build part.

The Daventry facility has an extensive customer base including most of the major OEM’s like Ford Motor Company (Including Jaguar & Land Rover), General Motors (Including Vauxhall), Honda & Nissan.

We also supply components for Tier 1 suppliers such as Meridian Technologies & Swindon Pressings.
Quality Assurance
  Certification This plant is fully certified and approved to Q1, QS9002 & ISO9000 and we meet most OEM, transplant automotive, truck industry & domestic standards and performance specifications.
  Environmental A state of the art waste water treatment system assures the plant of compliance with all environmental regulations.
  Testing Corrosion Test Laboratory monitors the performance of the various coatings and processes.
Corporate Support
  MetoKote’s Corporate USA Headquarters provide support for special processes and equipment development to meet specific customer needs.
  Process Technology MetoKote trained lab technicians, using sophisticated laboratory equipment, perform all necessary monitoring functions for the facility.
  Custom Equipment and Fixtures Like all MetoKote facilities, the Daventry plant has the advantage of MetoKote’s Equipment Division, MECO. With their help, special fixturing and equipment can be designed and fabricated swiftly to meet your needs.
